Visual content in online quizzes

Last updated: May 11, 2020

Online quizzes that contain images can create downloading issues in recent versions of the Safari browser. As a security measure, recent verions of Safari are now set by default to block “cross-site tracking,” which prevents some types of embedded content from a different web page or platform from loading correctly. In order to fix this, quiz takers must must be turned off the “prevent cross-site tracking” option in Safari.

  1. In the browser, navigate to the top left corner of the screen and click Safari.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Click Privacy.
  4. Ensure that Prevent Cross-Site Tracking is turned off.

Alternatively, quiz takers can use a browser other than Safari.

After the settings are modified, it may be necessary to log out of Canvas and log back in to see these changes.
