Share Recordings in Panopto

If you have created a recording and want to share it, you have three options:

Use Panopto share by adding specific UW NetIDs or Panopto Groups

  1. StepsActions
  2. Go to the session or folder share settings
    new sharing settings
  3. Under Invite People, enter the NetID of the person or Panopto group you want to share with and wait for the system to find matches. For individuals, make sure to select the UWNetid\netid option.
  4. Save your changes.

 

Share the unlisted public URL

  1. StepsActions
  2. Go to the share settings for the recorded session.

  3. Select Anyone at your organization with the link.
  4. Copy and share the session URL.

Notes: Consider FERPA and copyrights before making a video available to an audience other than your class. If you do want to make a video available to the public, add captions and post it on a Web site such as YouTube.

In your Canvas course, add a new person

You must be a course instructor to add a new person in a Canvas course.

  2. Under Canvas People, add a new participant.
