General Microsoft 365 Education Licensing Information
Microsoft offers several Microsoft 365 Education licensing options that are specific to the needs of educational institutions — these options are grouped into three distinct licenses: the A1, A3, and A5 licenses. Additionally, Microsoft further divides their licensing options into different products and services lines designated as “Microsoft 365” or “Office 365”. The UW draws from both of Microsoft’s product and service lines, Microsoft 365 and Office 365. As a result, we use “UW Office 365” to describe our branding of the Microsoft productivity platform in our environment, and the term “service level” to describe the set of services and features offered.
UW Affiliations
The Manage UW NetID Resources page provides a list of affiliation(s) associated with a UW NetID.
To view affiliation(s):
- Navigate to the Manage UW NetID Resources page.
- Expand the + (plus) sign on the Affiliation line.
- The topmost entry is typically the affiliation that identifies which UW Microsoft service level the UW NetID’s UW Office 365 account will receive.
