Design guide for voice, data and wireless communications
The UW-IT Design Guide is a subset of the UW Facilities Services Design Guide. The primary content of the overall design guide is maintained by UW Campus Engineering. To link to the Facilities Engineering Design Guide go to Facilities Services Design Guide
The documents below address nearly all voice, data, and wireless requirements for projects that will connect to the University-wide network. Projects involving these requirements are coordinated by UW-IT Communications Infrastructure office.
Boilerplate Specifications and Design Instructions
These documents are made available in two formats: MS Word and PDF. Consultants and designers developing project specifications should work with the MS Word files. PDFs are provided to make it easier to view the documents (requires Adobe Acrobat).

Standard Communications Drawings
These drawings are in two forms: PDF and AutoCAD files. The PDF graphics are intended for viewing only and should not be used in project documentation. (requires Adobe Acrobat). Consultants and designers developing project specifications should copy and work with the AutoCAD files.
NOTE: The AutoCAD drawings may not open by left clicking on them.
The simplest way to save a copy of either type of file is to right-click and select “Save Target/File As” (exact wording depends on your browser).
