Manual Long-term Registration of a Wireless Device

As of 1st of February 2022, Connecting to eduroam via your UW NetID and password has been switched off and replaced with certificate-based authentication.

If you’re unsure if your device uses a UW NetID/password or a certificate, then we recommend you reconfigure it using our tool. Please visit our Eduroam Onboarding Guide for step-by-step instructions or click onboard.wifi.uw.edu to onboard right away.

Manual Registration Procedure

If your wireless device does not have a Web browser (e.g. printers, IoT, game consoles), you can self-register it for University of Washington Wi-Fi access by following the procedure below.

  2. Find and record the device MAC address (it will look similar to 00:00:06:3E:B4:3F)
  3. Visit the following site, http://register.wifi.uw.edu/guest/mac_create.php, fill out the form and submit it.
