We are a catalyst for strategic change, and work to ensure IT initiatives across Academy and UW-IT align with and contribute to the University’s mission.
Why an EPMO?
The University of Washington historically has had a decentralized, federated approach to project management. This causes redundancies, inconsistencies, and a lack of central visibility into individual projects and the overall portfolio of projects.
Creating an EPMO will help:
- Create partnership between business/campus and IT
- Drive scale of projects
- Enhance visibility of IT projects and enable governance boards
- Encourage consistency in project management practices
About Us
What We Do
The UW EPMO bridges strategic planning and execution by integrating project and portfolio management practices. It ensures that projects are not only managed effectively on an individual basis but also assessed and prioritized within the context of the university-wide project portfolio of technology projects. This holistic approach ensures that projects contribute positively towards achieving the organization’s strategic goals, maximizing value, and optimizing resource utilization across the enterprise.
