Divisional charter: Intent and Purpose

The People & Culture Division in UW-IT is a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering a work environment where every individual can flourish, contribute their best and collectively drive our mission to support the University forward.

The division aims to ensure that our workforce is set up for success and that we maximize the value of our human capital. To get there, People & Culture seeks to:

  • Continuously develop staff and future leaders, with an approach to talent development that extends beyond the initial onboarding. By providing ongoing learning and growth opportunities, we ensure that our team members remain agile, adaptable and capable of meeting evolving challenges.
  • Ensure that budgetary and personnel resources are thoughtfully allocated. This includes strategic investments in training, development programs and personnel who are equipped to execute our division’s initiatives effectively.
  • Emphasize hiring individuals who not only possess the necessary technical competence but also align with and contribute to our organizational culture. We recognize the importance of cultural fit in sustaining a cohesive and high-performing team.
