Adobe Creative Cloud

Overview

Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription based software service that gives users access to a collection of software developed by Adobe for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, and cloud services. Applications can be ordered individually or as a suite (Creative Cloud). The following applications are available for individual order:

  • Audition
  • Muse
  • Animate
  • Captivate (Named User license only)
  • InCopy
  • Photoshop
  • Lightroom
  • Illustrator
  • Premiere Pro
  • Acrobat Pro (Named User license only)
  • InDesign
  • After Effects
  • Dreamweaver

The Creative Cloud suite includes all of these applications as well as some not available for individual licensing, such as:

  • Experience Design
  • Prelude
  • SpeedGrade
  • and many more

 Program Details

Adobe Creative Cloud applications are available as an annual subscription, with the license period running from June 14 through June 13 of the following year.  Adobe allows 30-day grace period. Purchases made after July 14th  will be prorated monthly.

Applications are available individually or as a suite assigned to either a named user or a specific device with discrete pricing for each category.

Named user licenses are assigned to an individual, may only be installed on two devices and are only available to that user. Named user license can be procured within 1 business day.

  • Named user license will not be assigned to a shared UW NetID. Adobe licensing policy prohibits it.

Device licenses are typically for a lab or other shared computer environment and may be installed only on a single device where the application(s) is/are available to all users of that device. Device license processing may take up to 10 business days.

Once activated, the device license cannot be used on a different computer. Send email with subject “Adobe Device license re-assign” to help@uw.edu. UW IT can help to re-assign the license to a different device.

The UW IT Software licensing team maintains a list of host names on which purchased Adobe DEVICE LICENSES are installed. Device licenses assigned to the host names that do not match UW IT records will be revoked without notice.

Device license for the following applications in Adobe CC suite are NOT available: Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Captivate CC, Adobe Stock

Eligibility

  • Available to all faculty and staff with authorization from budget approver using valid budget number.
  • Procurement cards and direct sales to individuals are not available at this time.

How to Order

To purchase a Named User license or a Device License, please submit the Adobe Order Form.

For bulk ordering of both license types, we’ve included a link to a spreadsheet for your convenience. When you open the file, please select the tab for either named user or a device license, select a product from the drop-down menu and fill out the remaining fields.

Please send the completed spreadsheet as attachment to help@uw.edu with the subject “Adobe Creative Cloud licenses”.
