UW Profiles Release: Net Price Peer Comparison Dashboard and Peer Data Refresh

June 9, 2020

In collaboration with the Office of Planning and Budgeting (OPB), Enterprise Reporting and Analytics just introduced the newest Peer Comparison Dashboard to the UW Profiles:

Additionally, in this release we also updated the existing Peer Comparison Dashboards with the latest IPEDS data.

Net Price:

The Higher Education Act, as amended (2008), defines institutional net price as ‘the average yearly price actually charged to first-time, full-time undergraduate students receiving student aid at an institution of higher education after deducting such aid.

Dashboard Summary:

The Net Price Story is the latest Peer Comparison Dashboard. Like the other Peer Dashboards, Net Price sources data from IPEDS. Also like the other Peer Dashboards, the Net Price Story allows you to compare UW’s Net Price to a variety of Peers. The Peer Group dropdown gives you the flexibility to choose the peer group you want to see:

As a Tableau Story, the tool allows users to explore peer cost data in four different views. You can tab through the story to view the following:

  • Net Price Trends by Peer Group Average
  • Net Price Trends by Income Group
  • Net Price Trends by Select Peer Institutions
  • Peer Institutions Net Price Trends by Income Group

Data Refresh:

As a part of this release, we also refreshed the Peer Comparison Dashboards with the latest IPEDS 2018 data, and 2020 Peer Lists.
