EWS EVAL Release 22 is Now Available

Enterprise Web Services (EWS) has released an update in EVAL for multiple web services in support of UW Finance Transformation (UWFT). For an overview of how EWS is adapting to support UWFT, refer to EWS for Finance Transformation.

Final Scheduled EVAL Release

This is the final scheduled EWS EVAL release. The updates from this EVAL release will be deployed to PROD sometime after UWFT Go Live. Future releases are expected on an ad hoc basis.

What’s New in EWS Release 22

Web Service Overview of Release
FWS v2 (Outbound)
  • Removed inactive records from all FWS v2 /{Entity}/Branch and /{EntityHierarchy}/Branch resources. Inactive records are still available from the main resources.
  • Removed inactive records from the following FWS v2 resources. Inactive records will still be available from the main resources.
    • /AppropriationHierarchy/Tree
    • /FundHierarchy/Tree
    • /GiftHierarchy/Tree
    • /GrantHierarchy/Tree
    • /ProgramHierarchy/Tree
    • /ProjectHierarchy/Tree
    • /SpendCategoryHierarchy/Tree
  • Added the following endpoints for search within the FWS v2 /{Entity}/Branch and /{EntityHierarchy}/Branch resources:
    • Appropriation
    • Appropriation Hierarchy

FWS Common Transactions (Inbound) There were no customer-facing changes for FWS Common Transactions (Inbound) introduced in this release. For support, refer to Support | FWS.
HRPWS v3 There were no customer-facing changes for HRPWS v3 introduced in this release. For support, refer to Support | HRPWS.

Action Required by 7/5/23 – Prepare for UWFT Go Live

Workday production data will become available at UWFT Go Live (7/6/23). To access this data, update the web service URL(s) for your solution(s) to point to the correct PROD environment(s). To learn more about web service cutover and key dates, refer to EWS for Finance Transformation.

Reminder – Request Access to FWS PROD

If you or your system/integration have access to an FWS environment today, this access will not automatically transfer to the FWS PROD environment at UWFT Go Live. You must specifically request access to this new PROD environment. For more information, refer to Preparation for UWFT Go Live – Request Access to FWS PROD by 6/2/23.
