Temporary home access licenses

Adobe’s temporary “At home Access” licenses were granted to the University Of Washington on March 20th. Please read the following information carefully. Be aware that current documentation from Adobe states that they will revoke these licenses on May 31st.

Who is eligible?

All UW current students, faculty and staff that need to use Adobe products for teaching and learning, as well as supporting the learning process in the UW are eligible for this license. In order to activate the temporary license, a user account must be provisioned in the Adobe console managed by the UW IT. We are unable to leverage the idP service due to data privacy policies at UW so each request must be manually processed. Just because a student or faculty are eligible does not mean you should request this license. Please submit a request only if the service is a requirement in order to complete or support coursework.

What do I need to do to allow students and faculty in my department to obtain a temporary Adobe license?

The fastest way to request group provisioning is to complete the form Add Users Template, and send it to help@uw.edu with the subject “Adobe temporary licenses”.

Individual (single person) requests (not groups or departments) should just email help@uw.edu asking for the Adobe temporary license and including the info below.

Please avoid modifying the format or the content that has been pre-populated in the template. Only fill out data in four columns:

  1. Username. (must be UW email address) e.g. bfooks@uw.edu
Please be sure that the email address is provided as TEXT only. No HTML code.
  2. Email. Copy data from the “Username” field. bfooks@uw.edu
  3. First Name. Bob
  4. Last Name. Fooks

Individual requests will also be processed for those that are not part of a department leveraging SDL licenses. However, priority will be given to the batch requests. An individual request must contain the same information that is requested in the CSV template. First/Last name, and UW email address.

Because we are using UW NetIDs for provisioning, users of this temporary service must select “Company or School” (enterprise) authentication instead of the Adobe ID, when logging in to download or use the software.

What if I need support related to the Adobe temporary license?

Those that already have submitted their CSV files with the list of users, please inform faculty and students that they can download desktop applications using the instructions provided by Adobe on this page: How to Download and Install Adobe Creative Cloud Apps.
