Managed workstation services

Managed Workstation Services provide networked personal computers that are centrally managed and supported by UW Information Technology.  Basic elements include:

  • Managed Workstation Windows desktop, with option for Mac computers
  • Basic help desk support
  • Operating system updates
  • Anti-virus installation and maintenance
  • Software delivery to Windows workstations via a centralized service, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows secure connections to campus resources
  • Managed Workstation Training Room

Optional elements include:

  • Shared and private file space managed through UW Groups, with self-service file restores
  • Managed Workstation Consulting: IT assistance beyond basic support
