More powerful processors and other upgrades to Hyak, the UW’s shared cluster supercomputer, make it faster, more nimble and better able to meet the growing number of big data and other computational challenges being tackled by UW researchers. Now with double the computational power, Hyak can help increase UW’s competitive edge in research, even in fields outside of science and engineering, with plenty of capacity to meet future demand. More than 60 research groups rely on Hyak to do their work.
