UW Deskmail Email

Service Description

UW Deskmail is the email service that allows electronic messages to be read and sent with a wide variety of email programs.  Web-based access to Deskmail is provided through Web Alpine.

Eligibility

UW faculty, UW staff.  Note:  General student access to this service has ended.

How to Order

The service can be activated by eligible individuals via a Web browser at the UW NetID Manage pages: uwnetid.washington.edu/manage/?service

Once the UW Deskmail Email Account is active, there are several ways to access it. For more about that, see: washington.edu/itconnect/connect/email/uw-email

Availability

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of irregularly scheduled maintenance.

Price

Basic Services (included in the Technology Recharge Fee)

  • A basic limit of 5 GB is included for faculty, staff, and 1 GB for shared accounts.

Self-Sustaining Services and Rates (Rates are effective through August 31, 2017)

  • Additional data storage for this service is available for a fee. To increase your storage limit, go to the Manage Your UW NetID Resources  page, where you can enter a budget number and set the amount. The rate is $0.76 per GB per month.

Service Level Description

Data storage limit is 5 GB for faculty, staff, and 1 GB for shared accounts.

UW Deskmail service goal is to be an always available service with minimal downtime.

Systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week  for disruptions. On-call staff are available for outage resolution.
