Information technology tools and resources at the UW

Service Description

Scout™ is an application designed to help students at the University of Washington find campus study spaces, campus food and tech items that meet their specific criteria. It is currently available as a mobile-optimized web application that can be accessed from any desktop computer or mobile device. Scout is available as a web app and will soon be available as both iOS and Android native apps.

SpaceScout™ has been replaced by Scout, but will continue to be available through the 2016 autumn quarter. SpaceScout is available as a native iOS or web app.

Scout allows any user to quickly and easily locate campus study spaces that meet their needs. Students can locate spaces by skimming a map, or by specifying search criteria: type of space or item, capacity, hours available, whether the space can be reserved, location, noise level, lighting, learning resources (whiteboard, etc.) and more. Photos help users choose exactly what they’re looking for. Real-time availability is shown for computers at popular computing labs and for tech items at the Student Technology Loan checkout desks.
