Campus License Keyserver

Service Description

By creating a campus wide Keyserver service, the Student Technology Fund Committee (STFC) is able to meter commercial software licenses they have purchased. We pool software resources, and meter usage to remain within the number of licenses owned. The Keyserver provides usage reports revealing the actual number of licenses used, enabling the STFC to be cost efficient and renew software licenses at an appropriate amount to accommodate campus needs.

In order for STFC to properly track hardware and software usage, all campus computers using STFC hardware and software must have an updated version of KeyClient software and follow the standardized computer name convention.

Eligibility

Available for use by students.

Requests for software licensing must come from departments running UW-owned, student dedicated workstations.

How to Order

Requests to install software or proposals to purchase new software are made through the Student Technology Fee (STF) Committee. Visit the STF website to request funding for hardware and software.
