Information technology tools and resources at the UW

Switch to the New, Modern MyUW

It’s time to switch to the new version of MyUW. The new MyUW provides more personal, timely, and relevant content according to your affiliation with the University, reduces information overload, and provides easy access to key links, tools, and information.

Please make the transition before June 14, 2018, when the legacy MyUW will no longer be available. To ease this transition, the two portals (new and legacy MyUW) will be operated in parallel so that you can make the switch when convenient for you.

We know that changing the technology tools you rely on can be inconvenient, but we ask you to make the time to switch to the new MyUW as soon as possible.

In service since 2000, the legacy MyUW portal has reached end of life, and will no longer be available as of June 14, 2018. A new, modern MyUW application has been available to students since fall 2014, and to instructors and staff since July 2017. Based on extensive research with users, the new MyUW provides personal, timely, and relevant content according to the user’s specific affiliation with the University, reduces information overload, and provides easy access to key links, tools, and information. Learn more about the decision to to build a new MyUW.

With the legacy MyUW reaching end of life, all users must switch to the new MyUW by June 14, 2018.

What do you need to do?

Just complete two easy steps:

  1. Save any bookmarks or custom links you created on the legacy MyUW. Your bookmarks will not migrate automatically.
If you have just a few bookmarks, try using the new Quick Links feature. If you have a larger collection, review these procedures for managing your bookmarks.
  2. Switch to the new MyUW. It’s easy: in the banner message posted at the top of the legacy portal page, just click “Switch to the new MyUW.”
