Equipment Tutorials

University classrooms are designed with standard feature sets that support many laptop, tablet and display devices.  Academic Technologies offers Equipment Tutorials as a means to familiarize classroom users with their assigned room and to help test devices for compatibility with installed classroom technology. The tutorial lasts up to thirty minutes and involves meeting with one of our technicians who will answer questions and provide guidance.

Do I need an Equipment Tutorial?

Operation of installed classroom technology is intended to be highly intuitive and instructions are posted in every classroom. We encourage classroom users to visit their assigned room in advance, or view our Classroom Features page, to determine whether or not a tutorial is necessary.

Who may schedule an Equipment Tutorial?

Subject to time schedule verification, course instructors and teaching assistants may schedule a tutorial prior to or during the academic quarter they are scheduled to teach.

How do I schedule an Equipment Tutorial?

Eligible individuals may schedule a tutorial by contacting Academic Technologies using the information provided at the bottom of this page.

What other information do I need to know?

  • This service is intended for credit-generating courses listed in the university Time Schedule.
  • Tutorials are scheduled by appointment only at least one week in advance. Requests submitted less than one week in advance will be accommodated as technician availability allows.
  • Tutorials are scheduled Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • One tutorial per course may be scheduled per academic quarter.
  • Academic Technologies does not warrant or guarantee that third-party audio/video or network devices will be compatible with the technology installed in classrooms.
