Communications is an internal unit for UW Information Technology (UW-IT) that:
- Oversees UW-IT’s internal and external communications on major initiatives, projects and directions
- Provides communications planning and consultation to UW-IT senior leadership, project managers and staff
- Facilitates UW-IT’s commitment to transparency, oversight, responsiveness and open communication
- Informs UW students, faculty and staff of UW-IT services and resources, and IT developments and issues at the UW that impact their work
- Works to build effective, two-way communications with stakeholders that keep them informed and engaged on important issues and priorities
- Supports IT Governance efforts at the UW
- Produces publications, reports and websites for UW-IT
