How will your department know how to communicate in an emergency? Check out UW-IT’s Business Continuity Toolkit for ideas on how to share departmental updates and information during emergency events. For example, you could use your internal web page, or set up an email distribution list. You could turn a department voicemail box into a telephone hotline or set up a traditional phone call tree. You could conduct meetings by telephone or video conferencing.
