Deciphering the early evolution of the universe with cloud computing

Ruby Bryne demos the technology she developed to help optimize a telescope half a world aways

Radio astronomy Ph.D. candidate Ruby Byrne is working to shed light on the cosmic dawn by optimizing a telescope half-a-world-away. She’s leveraging her membership in the Research Computing Club for cloud computing credits to do her research. Learning more about the early evolution of the universe could help us better understand dark matter, star and galaxy formation, and dark energy in the early universe.
