Google Meet is an audio and video conferencing service integrated into UW G Suite.

Please note: Google Meet is FERPA-aligned but not HIPAA-aligned. If you need a HIPAA-aligned video conferencing service, consider using a HIPAA-compatible UW Zoom account or Microsoft Teams instead.

Google Meet is compatible with all major web browsers. In addition to accessing Google Meet in a web browser, you can also use the Google Meet apps:

Advanced features available until September 30, 2020

Advanced features for Google Meet are available on a temporary basis. These features include:

  • Larger meetings, for up to 250 participants per call
  • Live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers
  • The ability to record meetings and save them to Google Drive
