Dialing Instructions
- Dial [5-digit extension].
To call a local Seattle, Everett, or Tacoma number:
- Dial [9] [10-digit number].
To call a toll free 800 number:
- Dial [9] [1] [800] [7-digit number].
To call a long distance number (U.S. and Canada) :
- Dial [9].
- Listen for dial tone.
- Dial [1] [10-digit number].
To call an international number using UWATS:
- Dial [9]
- Listen for dial tone.
- Dial [011].
- Dial [country code].
- Dial [city code] (omit 0 if first digit).
- Dial [local number].
- Dial [#]. (NOTE: Do not dial # if international number – excluding 011 – is 12 digits).
- Dial [authorization code].
UW Phone Service Standard Features
- To another extension or local non-campus number:
- Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
- Dial [5-digit] or [9] [10-digit] number call is to be transferred.
- Hang up to complete the transfer. If the line is busy, press [TAP] or [Recall] twice to return to caller.
- To add a second party to your existing telephone call:
- Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
- Dial the number of the party that you wish to add.
- Press [TAP] or [Recall] or [switch hook].
- To automatically redial the last number you dialed:
- Dial [#9].
Optional Features
- To temporarily redirect all calls to an extension or outside number:
- Dial [*72].
- Listen for dial tone.
- Dial [5-digit number] or [9] [10-digit number].
- To cancel Call Forwarding All Calls:
- 1. Dial [*73].
- To call the voice mail system to retrieve messages:
- Dial [79898].
- When prompted, enter your personal mailbox password (security code).
- Follow the menu prompts to retrieve messages.
