Sign into a different account type

Before starting these steps, make sure that you are completely signed out of Zoom (or use a different browser).

Notes:

  • When you switch from Standard to HIPAA, you will lose access to cloud recordings. The cloud recordings are not deleted, just hidden from view in the HIPAA account. When you switch back from HIPAA to Standard, cloud recordings become visible again (as long as you are still within the 90-day delete period). Meeting links are preserved.
  • If you have purchased add-ons for your previous account, contact help@uw.edu before you switch accounts.
  1. Visit https://washington.zoom.us.
  2. Select your new preferred sign-in option (either Standard UW Zoom or HIPAA UW Zoom).
  3. You will see a message that says You are signing into a Zoom account that is different from your current one.

  4. Select the second option, Switch to the New Account.
  5. On the following screen, select I Acknowledge and Switch to confirm your selection.
  6. Follow the steps provided to confirm your account changes via email.
