Add your UW Outlook Live Exchange Online (AKA myuw.net) account to Outlook.com

When you add your UW Outlook Live Exchange Online account to your Outlook.com account, you can view messages and files in your UW Outlook Live Exchange Online account from within your Outlook.com account. The UW Outlook Live Exchange Online  account is listed as a folder in your folder pane so you can switch between UW Outlook Live Exchange Online and Outlook without leaving Outlook.com. Connected accounts sync every time you sign in to Outlook.com and once per hour while you’re using Outlook.com.

Note: Connecting accounts simply makes it possible to view email from one account from within a different email account. This is not an automatic email import method. After connecting accounts, you will still need to import your email into the email service to which you’ve connected the other account. Connect your email account to Outlook.com

  1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
  2. On the navigation bar, click the gear icon, and then click Options.

  3. In the left pane, click Mail, then click Accounts, and then click Connected accounts.

  4. To connect UW Outlook Live Exchange Online, click Other email accounts.
  5. On the Connect your email account page, enter your full email address and the password of the email account you want to connect to Outlook.com.
    NOTE: If you’ve turned on two-step verification for the account you want to connect to Outlook.com, you will need to create an app password for that account. Go to your provider’s account security page and create an app password. Then, go to Outlook.com and enter that password on the Connect your email account page.

  6. Click OK.
  7. To return to your inbox, click Options. Your connected account will be included in your folder list.

Send email from my account

  1. Set the default From address. You can send email from any account you’ve added to Outlook.com.
  2. To return to the connected accounts page, click the gear icon  then click Options, then Mail, then Accounts, and then click Connected accounts.
  3. Click Change your From address.
  4. In From address, select an address from the drop-down list.
