Metadata

Knowledge Navigator (KN) was created as a metadata repository and to facilitate system migration. KN represents concepts and data relationships both visually and textually, highlighting linkages between the old and new systems in a web-based, interactive platform, as seen in these screenshots.

KN keeps users informed and engaged by providing self-service access to conceptual and technical descriptions, definitions, lineage, interactive relationship maps, and impact analysis information.

HR/P Changes

The transition from the HEPPS HR/P system to Workday requires data users to rethink the information they consume, as well as the concepts underlying the data.

Knowledge Navigator provides users with detailed information about changes brought on by the Workday transition. Understand the impacts to data and reports by visiting the Navigating HR/P Changes page.

Relationship Mapping

KN represents concepts and data relationships both visually and textually, highlighting linkages between the old and new systems in a web-based, interactive platform as seen here.

Impact Analysis

KN identifies inbound and outbound dependencies, or the rippling effect had when changes are made to a given table, column, or business intelligence report.

In this screenshot, if changes were made to the table dimDate, we can view this table’s outbound dependencies to see how changes to dimDate would impact other objects.
