Download a Discussion Board
To download your discussion board, follow these steps:
- From your Catalyst tools account page, click the name of the board that you want to download. You will move to the board home page.
- Click Manage in the global navigation at the upper left. You will move to the “Manage” page.
- Click Download Board. Your Web browser will prompt you to open or save a .zip file to your desktop.
- Choose to save the zipped file to your desktop or another location; the specific steps will vary depending on the Web browser used. Extract the files using your preferred zip program.
The discussion board will download as a .zip file that, when extracted, includes an Excel spreadsheet and a folder containing file attachments from posts. Organization of the spreadsheet is as follows:
Discussion Areas are organized into tabs in the spreadsheet. Tabs are located at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
Posts are grouped together by conversation with the subject of the conversation listed in column F.
Each individual post is displayed in a row starting with the participant’s identifying information followed by the post itself and links to any attached files.
File attachments have been downloaded into a folder called “Attachments.” Clicking the link in the spreadsheet will open the corresponding file from the “Attachments” folder.
The attachments folder is organized similarly to the Excel spreadsheet. The nesting order of the subfolders is as follows:
Attachments > Discussion areas > Conversations > Users > Files
