International UWATS and Direct Dial Service: Managed by departmental budget coordinators using the Long Distance Services Application.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting June 15, 2016, UW IT will deactivate all UWATS which have not been used in the last 12 month to increase systems and reduce the chance for fraud. If you find that your UWATS code us inactive after June 15, 2016, contact your department’s Long Distance Service Coordinator to order a new code for you. See IT Connect Long Distance Overview
The Long Distance Services (LDServices) application allows you to manage international long distance accounts for your department. A budget coordinator in your department should be authorized in Astra to use LDServices. If you don’t know who to talk to about this in your department, check “Who can authorize me” in Astra and talk to that individual.
Using LDServices you can:
- Create new Direct Dial and International UWATS accounts
- Deactivate accounts that are no longer needed
- Change budget information including Project Cost Accounting (PCA) for existing accounts
- Associate meta-data (such as end-user UW NetID and comments) with an account
- Export account information to a spreadsheet
Authorized users of this application can find the application at http://rome.cac.washington.edu/LDServices.
NOTE: To limit fraud, UWATS codes that are not used for 12 months are automatically removed from the system without notice.
Access to Some Countries Are Blocked
Calling access to some countries is blocked due to high rates of fraudulent charges incurred in long distance and toll-free services. Unrestricted calling access may be granted to departments with a business need on a per number basis. Granting of access will require budgetary and departmental approval, as well as an advanced notice within 3 business days. For further assistance in calling these countries, contact UW-IT at firstname.lastname@example.org or 206-221-5000.
